Fiber Network Switching Solutions

Importances of Fiber Network Switches

  • Maximum flexibility. Add SFPs when you need them to expand your network.
  • Extend the reach of a network by converting uplinks to multimode or single-mode fiber.
  • Super versatility.  Add a 10-Gbps fiber link to expand a 100-/1000-Mbps copper/fiber network.
  • Advanced switching and performance capabilities.
  • Provides superior manageability, security, QoS, and performance.
  • Robust security with VLAN capabilities.
  • Manage via the Web or Command Line.

Applications

From Closets to the Data Center

  • Get all your fiber connectivity from the individual small closets and the desktop switches connected to the Datacenter through a single Fiber switch and vice-versa.
  • In the above application diagram, the Fiber link from the Datacenter gets distributed to all the closets and the desktop switch suing the Black Box Fiber Switch LGB5124A or LGB5128A.
  • Each individual closets normally have a managed Layer 2 switch with a Fiber uplink like LGB5028A or LGB5052A shown as Aggregating Network Closet Switch in the application diagram acts as a distribution layer switch. These switches connect to Fiber link over uplink port to the Fiber switch while provides the connectivity to all the devices in the LAN Network connected over the copper RJ45 port.
  • The Fiber switch is also used to provide connectivity to Desktop switches. For FTTO, FTTD application, these switches like LGB516A are used.

CCTV surveillance over Fiber

  • Get all your CCTV cameras connected over Fiber. As shown in the application diagram, the Cameras are connected over normal copper twisted pair to a small network switch with fiber uplink or a media converter.
  • POE Media converters are preferred which help in providing Power to the cameras.
  • These switches or the media converter than can be connected over fiber to a central Fiber switch.

Wireless Infrastructure over Fiber

Similar to the above example, the Fiber switch can be used to setup Enterprise Wifi infrastructure by getting all the Wireless access point connected over fiber providing interference free network plus extending the reach of the Network connectivity to a very long range.

Fiber Optic Patch Cables - Black Box Update

Fiber Optic Patch Cables

Connectivity for the data center to the desktop, and beyond.
High-performance fiber cabling solutions for structured cabling systems,
data centers, industrial environments, multimedia systems, datacomm connections, and more, including custom cables.

MTP® MPO-style Cables, Cassettes, and Enclosures

Simplify high-density fiber cabling in the data center with plug-and-play pre-terminated solutions.
  • Double or triple your fiber density.
  • MTP® MPO-style connectors guarantee maximum performance.
  • Support 10-GbE applications now and future 40-/100-Gbps networks.
  • Eliminate termination errors, minimize installation time, and reduce waste.
  • Make easy high-density blade server, patch panel, and switch connections.

Begin with fiber cassettes.

MTP® MPO-Style Cassettes can hold up to 24 fibers. These cassettes fit the enclosures below.

Choose an enclosure or rack.

  • The Universal Fiber Patch Panel, 3U, holds 12 cassettes and up to 288 fibers. Open design makes cable management easier.
  • The Rackmount Fiber Enclosure, 3U, holds up to 12 cassettes and 288 fibers. The enclosure keeps fiber connections clean and protected.
  • The Rackmount Fiber Shelf, 1U, with pull-out tray, accommodates 72 fibers.
  • The High-Density Fiber Optic Enclosure, 1U, holds 108 fibers.Use with this high-density 3 x 12 Fiber Cassette.

Streamline and simplify data center rack cabling.
